#9 Golden Voice

Ted Williams was a man that started off at a radio station. This was until he went to jail at the age of 21. The act of going to jail did not end there. Frequently, Ted would get caught up in trouble. Some of his worst behavior was stealing and using drugs. After stealing from his family, the family disowned him. To make things worse, Ted was homeless after getting out of jail. Crack was a temptation that was hard to beat when getting out of jail. There were times when Ted should have over dosed on drugs. However, at the age of 51 his life changed.

On a street corner begging for money, Ted was found by a Columbus dispatch reporter. The reporter asked him to share his beautiful voice with the world. Teds voice gracefully sang into the ears of anyone who was listening. The viewers of the tv station loved Ted Williams voice. Ted instantly because famous. A homeless man was taking the headlines by storm. His voice landed him a job for Kraft Mac and Cheese. Later on, he published a book called A Golden Voice. After doing a great job on Kraft Mac and Cheese, Pepsi asked him to do a new ad. Then for a constant job Ted started working for the same radio station. Now, he is found talking about religion on that same radio station.

Most individuals would think Ted hit his peak. However, Ted had trouble managing his money. Ted made bad business decisions and was still addicted to his old ways. He found himself still drinking and feeling depressed. With his new fame, Ted was able to overcome these addictions. Mr. Williams has now been sober for 4 years. When going through these rough times Ted would rely on pray. His belief in faith has been strong and shown him the path.

Today, Ted lives in Columbus in a house. He has a vehicle and his happy to share his life with someone else. Williams has big dreams to do voice overs for Disney one day. On his free time, Ted can be found helping at the homeless shelter. He has been able to set up a nonprofit organization that aids the homeless.  At the shelter individuals are inspired by Ted because he has been at his bottom and rose above it.  Ted inspires me by not giving up on your dreams. I see a man that has been at bottom of an abyss and found a way to crawl out. He has found a way to conquer his demons and found the light.
